LocalNet Internet Service Provider Sucks

Cancelling account is like pulling teeth. You must first get through on their phone line and then are told that the only way to cancel their services is via a letter. Which you must snail mail or fax.

I did this two months ago, and since they say they did not recieve it, I am stil be ing charged for the service. I have not even used their service for 9 months!

I am trying to cancel and i am 65 its like they refuse I have resulted to calling my bank to put a stop to this mess

local net is a rip off. I hav not used my computer for 3 months, when I called to cancell they told me I have to do it on line and gave me a web sight. The site was no good and when I went to their customer care to find out what to do they asked my account name and then never came back I have made several attempts to cancell my internet with them with no luck, but in the mean time they are still charging me even though I do not use it.

I am looking into a lawsuit against this company for harassment, with all the complaints that I have seen and heard about in the last few days we should make this a class action lawsuit. It will hold up better in court. If your interested in this I will fill it but will need your email address to send you the forms. I have said the same thing but this has been going on for 4 1/2 years. I have called, written and now an email that I was told I would get a response in my email in 24 hours. What else can you do other than contact the Better Business Bureau or Attorney General.

i sign up for internet and in 5 mins i cancel because the service was rude and they didnt giving me the correct information on top of that the lady input my information in wrong. So i cancel it within 5 mins i sign up and they told me they were still going to charge me for start up cost, thats bull shit....so i will have a month of their service that i wont use

Today I recived a letter stating (I feel its a threat just to get money) that I owe $31 and if I dont pay they would see me in court in New York. A service I have not used and cancel last year and they even looked up my logs and seen that Ive cancel but saying that I sent the worng email but yet the seen my email but was sent to the worng place? and still being charged for something I would never go back too. I even had to change my bank account because they wouldn't stop taken money out. Im 21 so that hurts cause I dont keep a lot of cash in it which mean I started to owe the Bank account. Anyways, don't go to localnet; go with AoL or whoever not loclnet.

I agree. I was able to cancel the service but never was able to use the service in the first place. I tried calling several times and even talking to tech support and continued to get a different answer every time. When I cancelled service and asked for a refund, I was told no that the service was active for me to access. Really??? How are they allowed to continue with this?!?

I had the same issue in November....tried to sign up with localne...got username and password... decided it was too good to be true, and called back within 15 minutes to cancel...they said too late...now you have to wait and wirte a letter...we will consider a refund after 30-45 days. It was so stressful....but finally they did refund the money when I ever got to access their service. Inconvenient yes, but they did come through according to their word. Thank god for small things ugh.

I am glad that I read this before signing up with them, the best thing to do to get a refund is file a complaint with the better business bureau. It worked for getting my refund from Vonage.

My name is william wayne fondren and my address is 1210 13th st tuscaloosa alabama. and i paid 30 dollars and i want a refund or i will take you to court over5 bucks its the principle to ME.my phone is 2053310574 if the money is not in my account you will pay thousands in court fees,,,,try me you have 24hrs

I agree. I just received a call from my mother and she was VERY upset! She tried to cancel her ISP service with localnet.com and was having difficulty and called the customer service number. The young man that spoke to her was belittling and rude as can be. My mom is 67 years old and they all but threatened her that they wouldn't cancel her subscription. They then berrated her, and told her she needed to be quiet and let them do his job. They spoke one word at a time to her and asked to verify after each word that she got and understood that word before they would give or say the next word. WOW! This is amazing and this company should NOT be doing business! I cannot believe how upset my mother was and frazzled by the man at customer service. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!

I didn't realize that I was paying for the express 2.0 and never used it .When I called localnet to see about a credit or rebate I was told only 1 month free. Then when I complained she (kim) hung up on me and when I called back(3) times they disconnected me! They say its my fault that I didn't hook up the express and that they have no was of tracking who has it or not!!! But U still pay for it, thats what I figured, if I'm paying for it, I must have it installed.

i also had a bad experience with these crooks and they are threatening to sue me for $41.85 after i changed bank accounts ,theyre rude as hell and hung up on me when i tried to talk to them on the phone about this,they must have caller id and when i blocked my number they wouldnt answer when i called what unbelievable crooks,they have a racket and should be in jail and shut down

I cancelled my localnet sevrice i April. Three months later they started charging me again for something I don't use. Beware of these crooks.
